Saboba, Northern Region - December 2025
As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen youth entrepreneurship and improve access to business financing, a capacity-building training on business proposal development and writingwas successfully organised for selected beneficiaries of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) in the Saboba District.
The intensive one-and-a-half-week training programme brought together eleven small and medium enterprise (SME) owners and was facilitated by Dr Takal Silas Uwumborge, a Business Proposal Development Consultant, with coordination support from business consultant Mr Van-Ess Alootey.
The training aimed at equipping entrepreneurs with the practical skills required to develop bankable business proposals capable of attracting funding from institutions such as NEIP and MASLOC.
The programme commenced with a comprehensive presentation on the fundamentals of professional business proposal writing. Participants were taken through key components including the executive summary, business background, problem identification, proposed solutions, operational planning, risk analysis, and financial planning. This foundational session provided participants with a structured approach to developing compelling and investor-ready proposals.
In the second phase of the training, participants engaged in hands-on proposal development exercises, working in small groups to draft and present their business proposals. These sessions included proposal defence simulations, peer reviews, and facilitator-led feedback, enabling participants to strengthen their analytical thinking, presentation, and communication skills.
The final phase focused on reviewing and refining completed proposals, with individualised support provided to ensure clarity, coherence, and professional presentation. On 13th December 2025, the finalised proposals from all participants were submitted to the coordinating consultant for onward processing.
The training was hosted at the District Youth Coordinator's Office of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA)within the Saboba District Assembly. All participants were local entrepreneurs, reinforcing the programme's commitment to community-based enterprise development. This initiative highlights NEIP's continued commitment to youth empowerment, entrepreneurship development, and job creation. By equipping young business owners with the skills needed to access funding and scale their enterprises, the programme contributes meaningfully to sustainable economic growth at the district and national levels.
